Effective immediately, referral rewards will not be granted to "clone sites."
A clone site is any website or platform created with the primary purpose of replicating BentBox's experience in order to capture referral traffic, rather than providing independent value to users.
More specifically, a clone site is one that does any of the following:
- Mimicking Functionality Replicating the BentBox user interface, features, or core branding to create the impression of an official or affiliated platform.
- Redirecting Traffic Serving as a "pass-through" or mirror site where the sole intent is to capture traffic and funnel it to BentBox via a referral link, without adding any unique content or value.
- Brand Confusion Using domain names or layouts that may lead users to believe they are on an official BentBox property when they are not.
Why This Policy Is Necessary
We believe in a secure and transparent strategy for platform growth. Clone sites often create several issues that put our creators and buyers at risk:
Mirror sites can be used to harvest user data or credentials, compromising the safety of our creators and buyers — even when that is not the site owner's intent.
Affiliates should provide unique value — whether through reviews, curation, or social influence — rather than simply duplicating the existing BentBox experience. Real promotion earns real rewards.
Users should always know when they are on the official BentBox platform to ensure their transactions and content remain protected. Ambiguous sites undermine that trust.
What Qualifies for Rewards?
We still want to pay you for bringing great people to the platform! We continue to welcome and reward traffic from a wide variety of authentic sources:
- Social Media Promoting your own content or the platform on X, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and other networks.
- Review & Discovery Sites Writing articles or creating curated lists of top creators, categories, or content types.
- Niche Blogs Discussing the creator economy, tech entrepreneurship, digital media, or related topics where BentBox is a natural recommendation.
- Direct Recommendations Sharing your unique referral link with your existing fan base, newsletter subscribers, or personal network.
The Bottom Line
If your site provides unique content and context, you're in the clear. If your site is essentially a "BentBox Lite" designed to redirect traffic, it will not be eligible for the referral program.
