Trust & Safety

How we verify creators
and everyone in their content

Before anything goes on sale on BentBox, two things have to be true: we know who posted it, and everyone who appears in it has agreed. We use ProntoID to establish both.

Creators verify once

Every creator completes identity and age verification with ProntoID, then signs a ProntoRelease declaration authorising BentBox to sell their content as they post it.

Other performers approve

Anyone else who appears in a Box or video is tagged, verifies their own identity, and signs a release before that content can be sold.

For creators

Verifying you, and your authorisation

ProntoID is an identity verification service run by Brooks & Keitt Sàrl in Switzerland. It checks that you are who you say you are and that you are an adult, then records your authorisation as a ProntoRelease declaration. The whole flow happens on ProntoID’s own pages, and takes a few minutes.

  1. Start from your BentBox account When you apply to sell, we send you to ProntoID with a secure session linked to your account.
  2. Verify your identity You photograph a government-issued ID and complete a short liveness check, which confirms a real person is present and matches the document. Your age is taken from the verified document, not typed in.
  3. Sign your ProntoRelease declaration Your verified name and date of birth are filled in for you and locked. You declare that the content you post is yours to sell, and you authorise BentBox to host and sell it. The wording you sign is version-pinned, so a later change to the standard text can’t rewrite what you agreed to.
  4. The record is sealed ProntoID takes a SHA-256 hash of the signed declaration so any later change to it is detectable, and keeps it with your verification record. A copy is available to you, in your own account.
  5. You’re back on BentBox, verified We receive the result of your verification and a reference to your signed declaration. You can start publishing.

Which declaration you sign

Not every creator is in front of the camera, so there are two versions. You are shown the one that matches how you work.

You appear in your own content

You declare that you are the person depicted, that you were an adult when it was made, and that you authorise BentBox to sell it. Nothing further is needed unless someone else appears alongside you.

You photograph or film others

You declare the same things about your own role as producer, and you warrant that you hold a compliant release for every performer in the content. That warrant is what the ProntoTag step below puts on the record.

What your authorisation covers

Your consent is to your content being used as you post it. You stay in control of what is on sale.

It lets BentBox

  • Host the Boxes and videos you upload
  • Show the covers and previews you choose
  • Sell your content at the price you set
  • Deliver purchased content to buyers

It does not

  • Take ownership of your work — you keep it, we get permission
  • Let us use content you have not posted
  • Stop you editing or removing your content
  • Cover anyone else who appears in it — they sign their own release
For collaborations

When someone else appears in your content

Your own authorisation only covers you. If another person appears in a Box or video — a collaborator, a partner, a model you photographed — they need to give their own consent, from their own verified identity. We collect that with ProntoTag, part of ProntoID.

  1. Tag them when you upload Add each person who appears in the content. Each one gets their own link, so nobody approves on anyone else’s behalf.
  2. They verify with ProntoID The performer completes the same identity and age check you did. It’s free for them and they don’t need a BentBox account. If they are already verified, this step is skipped.
  3. They read and sign the release The terms are shown to them in plain language before they sign, and the signature is bound to their verified identity rather than a typed name.
  4. BentBox is notified We receive confirmation that a verified release exists for that content. Until every tagged person has approved, it can’t go on sale.

The terms stay between you and them

BentBox is told that a verified release exists and whether it is still in force. We don’t receive or assess its terms, so make sure what you agree covers selling on BentBox.

Withdrawal stops future sales

If a performer withdraws, ProntoTag notifies us and we take the content off sale. It is forward-looking: it cannot reach copies buyers have already bought and downloaded, and we won’t pretend otherwise.

The record is never deleted

A withdrawal ends future sales; it doesn’t erase what was agreed and when. That record protects the performer as much as it protects you.

Your data

Who holds what

BentBox (Haas & Reed B.V.) and ProntoID (Brooks & Keitt Sàrl) are separate companies and separate data controllers. We designed it that way so the most sensitive information about you never sits on the platform where your content is sold.

ProntoID holds

  • Your ID document images
  • Your liveness and biometric data
  • Your verified legal name and date of birth
  • Signed declarations and releases

BentBox holds

  • Whether you passed verification, and when
  • A reference to your signed declaration
  • Which content has a verified release, and its status
  • Your account and the creator name you choose
FAQ

Common questions

No. Your document scan and liveness check are handled entirely by ProntoID, which is operated by Brooks & Keitt Sàrl, a separate company and a separate data controller. BentBox receives the outcome — whether verification passed — along with audit details such as the date and a reference token. Your documents never reach our servers.

Verification proves who you are and that you are an adult. It does not, on its own, record that the content you post is yours to sell or that you have authorised us to sell it. The ProntoRelease declaration closes that gap, and it is bound to your verified identity rather than to a typed name or an email address.

No. It covers your content as you post it: hosting it, showing the covers and previews you choose, selling it at the price you set, and delivering it to the buyers who purchase it. If you edit or remove a Box, what we show changes with it.

Tag them with ProntoTag. They receive a link, verify their identity with ProntoID, read what they are being asked to approve, and sign. Until every person you have tagged has approved, that content cannot go on sale.

No. They need a verified ProntoID, which is free for them, and they are walked through it from the link you send. If they already have a verified ProntoID, approving takes under a minute.

No. BentBox receives confirmation that a verified release exists for that content, and is notified if it is withdrawn. The terms themselves stay between you and the performer. That means it is your responsibility to make sure the release you agree with them covers selling the content on BentBox.

ProntoTag notifies BentBox and we take the content they appear in off sale. Withdrawal is forward-looking: it stops new sales from that date. It cannot reach copies already bought and downloaded by buyers, and we don’t claim otherwise. The signed record is never deleted either — it is the evidence of what was agreed and when, and it protects both of you.

That depends on the terms of the release they signed. Where those terms grant withdrawal, it takes effect from that date forward. Where they do not, the request is still recorded and still passed on — as a request rather than as something binding. Either way, data protection and image rights sit outside the release entirely and are not limited by anything in it.

No. Your verified legal name is held by ProntoID for verification purposes. Buyers see the creator name you choose.
