The Verification Process

Most creators complete verification in under 3 minutes. Here's exactly what happens from start to finish.

Go to your Identity Verification page

From your BentBox account settings, navigate to the Identity Verification section. You'll see your current status — Unverified, Pending, or Verified — along with a prompt to begin.

Click "Verify ID Now" to initiate your session

BentBox generates a secure, single-use verification session token and calls the ProntoID API. You are then redirected to ProntoID's secure verification portal at verify.prontoid.com. The session token expires after one hour for your security.

Before you submit anything, ProntoID presents a clear summary of what will be verified and their full privacy commitments — including confirmation that no human will ever view your documents, and that all data is automatically deleted once verification is complete.

Using your device's camera, you'll photograph a government-issued ID (passport, driving licence, or national identity card) and take a quick selfie. ProntoID's automated AI system confirms you are a real person, that your age is within the required range, and that your identity is genuine.

Yes. All content creators must complete identity verification via ProntoID before they can publish content, build a following, or receive any payouts. This is a platform-wide requirement — it's what makes the BentBox community trustworthy for everyone involved.

How long does verification take?

The submission process takes most people under 3 minutes using ProntoID's guided interface. Once submitted, verification typically completes within 24 hours — though many cases are resolved much faster, often instantly or within a few minutes.

What documents do I need?

You'll need a valid government-issued photo ID. Accepted documents typically include a passport, national identity card, or driving licence. You'll also need a device with a working camera to complete a quick selfie check. The exact list of accepted document types is shown inside ProntoID's portal at the time of verification.

Does BentBox store copies of my ID?

No. BentBox never receives or stores your ID documents at any point. All document handling takes place exclusively on ProntoID's servers. Once verification is complete, ProntoID automatically deletes your documents permanently. BentBox only ever receives a simple verified / not-verified status flag.

What if my verification is rejected?

If ProntoID cannot verify your identity — for example, due to a blurry photo or unclear document — you'll receive guidance on how to retry the process. If you believe there has been an error, contact our support team at info@bentbox.co and we'll be happy to assist.

Do buyers and community members also need to verify?

Full KYC identity verification is currently required for content creators who wish to sell and receive payouts. For buyers and community members, ProntoID age verification is applied to ensure appropriate access to content. BentBox is committed to ensuring every participant is a real, accountable person.

Is my verification status visible to other users?

Other users will see a Verified badge on your creator profile, confirming that your identity has been confirmed. They will not see any personal details or documents — only the badge itself. All verification data remains strictly private between you and ProntoID.
