The Idea

The catalogue, and
the conversation

BentBox has always been a catalogue. Hundreds of thousands of boxes, tens of thousands of videos, a decade of work by photographers, studios and models who set their own price and keep it. What it has not always had is the room next door — the place where the people who make the work and the people who love it actually meet. A great box answers a question. It rarely starts a conversation. BentBox Connect is the room where that conversation begins.

Discovery on most platforms is built around the thing, not the person. You find a single piece of content, admire it, and then hit a wall: who made this, what else have they made, and is there anyone else working in the same vein a little closer to home? The trail goes cold exactly where it should get interesting. Connect turns the page around. It starts with the creator — searchable by what they do, the style they shoot, and where they are — and treats the catalogue as something you reach through a person, not instead of one.

Good content earns an audience. A good platform lets that audience say so — and lets the creator answer.

The Problem

Found, but
never reachable

The old problem was never a shortage of talent or content; it was a shortage of front doors. A fan could stumble onto a creator and have nowhere obvious to go next — no clean way to browse others like them, no filter for the exact style they came for, no sense of who was working nearby. And once they did find someone, there was rarely a clear invitation to say the single most valuable thing a fan can say: I love this, can you make more — or make this, for me — or work with me on something new. Custom commissions and collaborations that should have happened simply never started, because nothing in the experience asked for them.

The discovery gap: catalogue-first platforms surface individual pieces of content but make the creators behind them hard to find, hard to compare, and hard to reach — so the fan’s next step, and the custom or collaborative work that step leads to, never happens.

The cost lands on both sides. Fans leak away the moment a trail goes cold, taking with them the requests, commissions and repeat support that a connected audience provides. Creators stay invisible past their best-performing box, missing the very people who would happily fund exactly the work they most want to make. A discovery gap is quiet, but it is expensive — and it is the gap Connect is built to close.

The Answer

A directory built
around people

Connect is a people-first directory with a single job: help the right fan find the right creator, and give them a reason to talk. Browse by creator type — photographers, studios, models — narrow by the content category you actually came for, and filter down to a country or even a city when proximity matters. Every result is a real working creator with a real catalogue behind them, one tap from their full profile. From there the conversation is the point: a note about new content, a request for something custom, an opening line about a collaboration. The catalogue brought you in; Connect is where you decide what happens next.

BentBox Connect is a faceted, people-first creator directory: fans discover creators by type, content category and location, open a full profile, and reach out directly about new content, custom commissions or collaborations — turning passive browsing into a real conversation.
In practice

How Connect
works

In practice the flow is short and deliberate. Connect starts empty on purpose — nothing loads until you choose a filter — so the first thing you see is always a focused room of working creators rather than the whole platform.

  1. Choose a creator type — photographer, studio or model — to move from an open marketplace to a focused room of people who make the kind of work you came for.
  2. Narrow by content category and, when it matters, by country or city, so the creators you see match both your taste and your reach.
  3. Open any profile to see the full catalogue behind the card — boxes, videos, bio and the work that brought you there.
  4. Reach out directly: ask about new content, commission something custom, or open a conversation about a collaboration.
  5. Connect lists creators on an opt-in basis and keeps block and report controls one tap away, so it stays a room people choose to be in.
Questions

What people ask first

What is BentBox Connect?

BentBox Connect is a space where creators and fans meet to connect, engage and talk about new content, custom work and collaborations. In practice it is a directory that lets fans discover creators by type, content category and location, then open a full profile and reach out directly.

How do I find creators on BentBox Connect?

Start by picking a creator type — photographer, studio or model — then narrow by content category and, if you like, by country or city. Connect loads results only once you have chosen a filter, so you always see a focused set of working creators rather than the entire platform at once.

Can I request custom content or a collaboration through Connect?

Yes. Connect is built to start exactly those conversations. Once you reach a creator's profile you can contact them directly to ask about new content, commission something custom, or propose a collaboration — the feature exists to turn browsing into a working relationship.

Who appears in the BentBox Connect directory?

Connect lists working creators — accounts with published boxes or videos — rather than every registered member. Listing is opt-in, so creators choose to appear, and block and report controls sit on every card to keep the space safe for everyone.

Is BentBox Connect free to use?

Browsing and discovering creators on Connect is free. As on the rest of BentBox, creators set their own prices and keep 100% of the listed price for any content or custom work you go on to buy; BentBox's commission is added on top at checkout.
