Questions & Answers with Beata Blue
In this short article we have asked beatablue a few questions for an insight into her work as a model.
Where are you from?
I was born on the beautiful Croatian coast, in the charming medieval town, Sibenik.
Who or what inspired you to become a model?
As far as I remember I was often photographed and as a child I always loved to look at pictures of beautiful women in my mom´s magazines. I also discovered soon enough the collection of Playboy and Penthouse magazines of my dad... I can say I grow up with beautiful pictures of gorgeous women.
How and when did you start modelling?
An ex-boyfriend of mine was quite interested in photography and after taking enough pictures of landscapes, cities and animals one day he started to aim his lenses on me. He also quickly bought a Polaroid camera and started to convince me to pose nude for him. It was only for our private fun though. However I started liking it and wanted to perfect my modelling skills.
I also got ambitious seeing some excellent results. My fascination for modelling is constantly growing since then and I have to thank to my ex-boyfriend for that.
What type of modeling do you enjoy the most?
I love glamour and fashion photography and anything which evolves of it. 😉 With time I discovered special fun in taking naughty pictures outdoors, on the streets or places, where I can be caught. This is my kind of “extreme sport” I would say. I like the adrenaline rush which comes with it and the strange encounters when I get caught.
But I would say I feel most comfortable with some wonderfully dressed up set. I have a special passion for retro/vintage style. I adore the fashion of the 20s, 30s, 50s and 60s of the last century. I am also a passionate collector of vintage style dresses and have my favourite shops in all the European cities I travel to.
What do you look for when deciding to work with a photographer?
If there is no chemistry and respect between us there is no way of working together.
I have to have my needs respected and also my whims. I do not like working to hard or to be pushed. My mood and performance diminishes under pressure. However I love working with photographers who always come up with some new idea I can resonate with, have great locations on mind and are creative in their work. And of course kind and appreciative.
Which models or other artists currently inspire you?
Of course, I am updated and aware of the work by big houses like Playboy and Penthouse magazines or websites like MetArt or FemJoy, but to tell the truth for true inspiration I look for is in art.
I admire the poses and gestures you can see in paintings and sculptures. My favourite is definitely the Italian renaissance and I think there is an endless source of inspiration and aesthetics to find there.
Your love for arts seems that made an impact among your fans as well...
Yes, I was lucky to get to know a lot of amazing talented artists who felt inspired by my work as a model and my love for art has found a response in their work. I am very happy and honored that so many great artist have dedicated their works to me. This a part i am really most proud of.
What would be your dream shoot?
Lately - as we all - I miss traveling very much. Especially to exotic destinations, to see cultures so different from ours. I love all my sets which are connected to some distant continent and at this moment my dream is to be able to shoot again without fear in Thailand, Bali, the Philippines, India or in the US.
Also a glamorous cosplay session with beautiful garments, jewellery and make up could fascinate me.
How important is social media in your success?
I consider myself very conservative in this matter. Actually I dislike all kind of social media and I do not really use them.
They are practically reserved for my family and relatives only. I also have an other carrier beside modelling through which I am known in my country and around. I am not ready to give up my anonymity mixing my two lives on social media.
What else do you like to do outside of modelling?
I love to read, watching good movies or just sit around with my iPad. Sleeping is also an important pastime for me!
I love exercising, actually I am an Ashtanga-yoga fanatic! In my spare time you can often catch me working on my head- or handstand.
😉 I am a meditator, this is the first thing I do in the morning and it became beside a ritual also a passion for me. I enjoy eating a lot but I do not eat much. A tasty vegetarian dish does it perfectly for me although I am not an enthusiast cook at all.
What’s the best career advice you can give to new models?
If you want to do it well and with niveau at a certain level, enjoy all the arts! It will make you sensible for the beauty in life and make you more beautiful too.
Choose your photographer well because he can be your teacher and guide in the future towards many coming projects!
Take care of yourself and never stop appreciating your work and yourself!
